About the event
As an elected Member of the European Parliament, my main priority for the period 2024-2029 is to strengthen citizens’ engagement with the European Union. I aim to have more people feel actively connected to the EU and willing to share their insights and opinions.
HOW AM I GOING TO HANDLE THIS?
My approach is to give real meaning to the word 'people' in 'people's representative'. I plan to use all available means to facilitate conversations both physically and digitally. By doing so, I hope to bridge the gap between EU institutions and citizens.
Some see this as a recipe for confusion and division, but my experience as chairman of the Association for Cannabis Retailers has taught me that organizing inclusive dialogues actually helps to find consensus and joint solutions. This is true even when you are dealing with opponents or sceptics.
